In December 2010, Dr. Grisanti pioneered the first WNY pediatric urgent care facility, and since then, has turned it into a center of excellence, as an ER alternative for infants, children, adolescents and young adults through age 21.

Gretchen Volk, MD

Medical Director

Dr. Gretchen Volk grew up in Webster, NY and swore a solemn oath to defend her hometown against Fairport at all costs. All of that changed the day she stepped foot into the Pediatric Urgent Care of Rochester and realized that this was where she wanted to practice medicine. Between these two events, she graduated college from Brown University, graduated medical school from the University of Rochester, and completed her internship and residency at Strong Memorial Hospital and Rochester General Hospital. Following that, she worked for three years in the Pediatric Emergency Room at Strong and nearly twenty years at Westside Pediatric Group. When she isn’t working at urgent care in Fairport, you can sometimes find her on medical mission trips in Guatemala. Caring for sick children is her passion, and while she hopes you don’t need to meet her, she promises to give you her best if you do!

Karina Vattna, MD

Dr. Karina Vattana is an Irondequoit native who went to school at the University of Buffalo for her undergraduate and medical school training. She returned home to Rochester to complete her residency training in general pediatrics at URMC's Golisano Children's Hospital. She currently works full time as the Medical Director of Pediatrics at Trillium Health, a federally qualified health center in Rochester. In addition, she works per diem at Pediatric Urgent Care of Rochester - usually a few nights and weekends a month. She currently resides in Charlotte with her husband and their rescue puppy, Angelo. She loves traveling, practicing her Spanish, and performing advocacy work for youth in the Rochester area.

Matthew Stevens, MD

Dr. Matthew Stevens grew up on Long Island and followed his calling to medicine at the University of Buffalo. After medical school and residency in Long Island, he made his way to Rochester—his wife’s hometown—and quickly fell in love with the community they now call home. From the time he was a kid himself, Dr. Stevens knew he wanted to care for children. That early passion led him to a career in pediatrics, with over three years in primary care, before making the move to pediatric urgent care. He finds great purpose in helping kids feel better when they’re sick or injured and supporting families through those tough moments. When he’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Dr. Stevens out for a run or cheering on his favorite baseball team (go Yankees!). Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids right here in the Rochester area.
