Dehydration is a relatively common condition and can be easily remedied at the first sign of an issue. Essentially, losing more water than you consume can cause excessive thirst, darkened urine, and a number of other symptoms including:
- Dry mouth
- Muscle weakness
- Feeling tired
- Headache
- Abdominal pain
- Feeling dizzy
- Crying without tears
- No urine output (for more than 4-6 hours) or excessive urination
If your child is already sick, it can be very easy for dehydration to occur. Diarrhea, vomiting, and sweating too frequently without replenishing or being able to keep down liquids can lead to dehydration.
